Electric Dreamscape updated SNOW-346:
I attached the secondlife.log file of a login session that involced rezzing in front of the television and executing the steps to reproduce the problem, then immediately logging off.
It's a g.MEDIA HD television set.
To get the error (I have had a few other testers reproduce this under Vista, XP and Linux):
Touch the television.
Get the menu.
Enter any search term.
Get the error:
"No Media Plugin was found to handle the "none/none" mime type. Media of this type will not be available."
After the error, the screen displays a series of thumbnails of the search results, as it should. And, clicking any of these thumbnails plays the media stream, also as it should.
The steps to reproduce this for me under Linux and Windows XP SP3 are identical.
Let me know if there is anything else I might send alone or any other tests that would help discover what is causing the none.none error.
As I mentioned, this error cropped upa fter the change that oroginally broke the media playing in Slowglobe a bit ago, and is the last of the errors that have yet to be fixed regarding playing media, that I know of in my testing.
> Build 2976 no media plugin to handle none/none mime type on Linux and Windows XP
> Key: SNOW-346
> URL: http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SNOW-346
> Project: 6. Second Life Snowglobe - SNOW
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: User Interface
> Affects Versions: Snowglobe 1.2
> Environment: Windows XP SP3 and Linux
> Reporter: Electric Dreamscape
> Attachments: SecondLife.log
> This is a repost of part of the still incompletely resolved issue I reported in bug SNOW-339. I tested with build 2976.
> This bug was part of SNOW-272 also. Both bugs were closed as resolved (not by me, the original reporter) but the resolution was incomplete.
> I tested this issue on several XP machines, one of which is a fresh install of XP, only a few days old. All are SP3 and fully patched, all with the latest Quicktime. Quicktime is working.
> I log in fine, no errors.
> Under XP:
> I click my television, click the search option, enter a search term, and get this error:
> No Media Plugin was found to handle the "none/none" mime type. Media of this type will not be available.
> This error is new and started when the media was broke by the recent Snowglobe builds.
> I do get a thumbnail display of media selections after this none/none error shows in a popup, which is what should happen. When I click on one of the thumbnails on screen to play it, the media plays as it should.
> Behavior under Linux is identical.
> This started after the last round of media errors on Snowglobe.
> Let me know if there is any additional information that would be helpful to identifying this issue that I can pull from any of my machines or operating systems.
