[SLED] eXistenZ - apply more to SL than The Matrix?

Surrogate is probably going to do a lot to justify those people who
think VWs are a waste of time or detrimental to society.

1999 also brought us _The Thirteenth Floor_, which, like _eXistenZ_,
raises interesting questions regarding virtuality (via the concept of
simulation). Neither of these was as slickly produced as _The Matrix_,
but they're both great for those interested in thinking about VWs.
