[SLED] Laptop purchasing suggestions

I've got Ubuntu (Feisty Fawn) running on an old ASUS machine - P4 2.4 -
works a charm - just having an issue with drivers for my wireless adapter...
but all else seems good...

Just curious, since what I've tracked here so far only mentions
Windows/Mac: is anyone out there using the linux client? I've been
thinking of setting up my home machine as Windows/Ubuntu dual boot, and
also seeing if I can run Ubuntu on an older Dell laptop.
